I never flew but I took care of the men ho did. When did you move to America: 1946 How is Wales different now as opposed to when you were a little girl: It used to be small towns all over but now they have combined to make bigger city areas. What event in your lifetime has most impacted Wales: WW2 changed it because we were bombed and air raided but before that nothing major happened in Wales. How is the world in general different from when you were a child: Society is more free, technology is hugely impacted and politics has changed the world as well. I also remember working one of the first computers Did Events like the Vietnam, Korean, effect you: If so how: The Korean War didn't because I was to young to remember. But the Vietnam War did because uncles fought in it. If you could change one historical event that occurred in your lifetime what would it be and why: When President Kennedy was killed because it was a shocking incident that had not happened in along time How did you feel when you heard about : JFK Assassination: I remember watching it on TV during high school, heart breaking and emotional 9/11: Devastated, disbelief, couldn't believe the death toll and something that terrible happened. How have peoples views and ideals changed since your childhood: I think it is much less structured and strict and you knew how you were supposed to act and think. People were more patient with others. |

How has technology changed since your childhood: Its day and night I never used a computer until the mid 60's. I was never fond of computers. In cars it comes down just to the equipment we use. Did Events like the Vietnam, Korean War effect you: If so how: I was a Marine in Okinawa when Vietnam started to be an engineer to helicopters and planes. In 1964 I was the let go before it really picked up. Unfortunately I lost a lot of good friends in the war. What wars were you active during: Vietnam a little bit What did you do in the war: Engineer on helicopters. If you could change one event that occurred in your lifetime what would it be and why: I would really like to change the fact that I could go back to school to get my masters. What event that occurred in your lifetime shaped the US to what it is today:' The Gulf War because that is when we really started deficit spending. We should have stayed out of Iraq and Afghanistan. How has society changed since your childhood: Everybody's got to have it now whether or not they earned it. They have a total lack of social morals and basic courtesies. In your opinion has religion become a larger or smaller part of everyday life for people in general since your childhood: Religion is a much smaller part of everyday life and holidays such as Christmas are being steered away from there original meanings to make fanciful fun for kids. Did you ever take part in any historical events: The Vietnam War How has the treatment of minorities ex. Jews and African Americans changed since your childhood: In this country Jews are not mistreated but the stuff going on in the middle east is not cool. Africans Americans are better off now then when I was young. |
